How unusual that we have 3 new Hero WOD’s in a row…
It’s about more than just fitness, today and on every hero WOD day, it’s about honoring someone who died for our freedoms. I found this on the main site and it really sums up what I feel about CrossFit right now…
“It has been a tough week with the many reminders of our fallen heroes. This war has lasted so long, sometimes it is easy to forget. The hero workout is the least we can do to remember what so many are fighting for and the loss so many families have had to endure. My heart goes out to all of them.
This week I lost my Aunt to illness. In the last year and half my family has endured the loss of 4 family members to illness. So frail the human body is sometimes, and how we punish it day in and day out in our mighty WODs. But why do we do it? For the uninitiated it is beyond comprehension. For the Crossfitter it is common sense. We prepare for life in the gym: to live hard we must train hard. We strive to be what Coach calls “super fit.” Before the “super fit” become “sick”, we have to reach “wellness”. In the next week, encourage one person to begin their path to being “super fit”; they will thank you for it.”
If the only motivation to do this is the number on the scale or the way the pants fit, you could be missing an important piece of CrossFit. I look forward to seeing you all at noon tomorrow for the free Saturday group WOD.

Very well said Jennie. Sometimes it seems we do lose sight of what is important in life, especially with our health these days. I our household we try to instill “health” into our kids through eating habits and exercise so that they don’t end up like our parents with weight and health problems. Thank you for your post…
I did “the Chief” WOD today because of time contraints. I only did four rounds and not five. I was really hurtin’ at the end of round four and called it quits…
