U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Keith “Matt” Maupin, 24, of Batavia, Ohio, disappeared on April 9, 2004 when insurgents south of Baghdad attacked his convoy with small-arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades. His remains were found on March 20, 2008. Prior to his disappearance, Maupin served as part of the 724th Transportation Company in Bartonville, Illinois.

He is survived by his mother, Carolyn; father, Keith; a brother and sister; and many other friends and family members.

    Push-ups started strict, but became rolling pretty quickly. At round three I had to switch to knees.

    Dropped in at Metabolic Crossfit to visit some old CFJ friends! Hadn’t been there yet. Nice facility! Worth the trip to visit friends and support old CFJ members.

    In teams of two, one person working at a time, complete:
    100 Kettlebell Swings (35)
    400 Meter Run*
    100 Thrusters (33)
    400 Meter (I biked until Becky got back from runs)
    80 Burpees
    400 Meter Run/bike
    100 Thrusters (subbed air squats this second go around as hammies and glutes are still on fire from walking lunge WOD. 50 thrusters at beginning of WOD was sufficient. 😬)
    400 Meter Run/bike
    100 Kettlebell Swings (25)
    *Both athletes run/bike at the same time

    (Broke everything into sets of 10 between us, except for burpees, we alternated sets of 5. Becky = RX, so I posted what weights/movements I did)

    51:09 overcast & rain was nice
    push-ups modified and scaled: 15 pull-ups, then 34 pushups (mix of strict, plank down/roll-up back up to plank, & knee pushup) each round
    RIP Sgt. Maupin.

    25-30 unbroken pushups each round then 5’s
    Sit-ups with anchored feet.
    Squats… Yep
    Runs got slower.

    Push ups were more roll up plank down than strict (prob 3:1)

    Each rd I did 25 strict pushups
    Then 24 pushups @
    1st rd I finished with pu’s from knees
    Rd 2,3,4 finished with roll up/ roll down pu’s
    Abmat situps were a mix of knees up and butterfly
    Thankful for Maupin’s service and to his friend for sharing his story.
