U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Ricardo Barraza, 24, of Shafter, California, assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, based in Fort Lewis, Washington, died on March 18, 2006, in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, when he came under small-arms fire by enemy forces during combat operations. After six tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, Barraza had been scheduled to return home to marry his fiancée. Their wedding would have taken place just weeks after he was killed. About 700 people attended his funeral.

    Partner WOD of 21-15-9
    Snatches, burpee pull ups and running 200m together after each set. We finished in 13:35.
    Lucas did RX @135, I didn’t 🙂

    Did 10-20 kipping pulls while coaching. Uncomfortable. Did 1 strict in wod. Very uncomfortable.
