February 24 – Open WOD 17.1

We will have regular morning classes but all Friday evening classes are canceled. You may come in at any time from 4-7:30 and put your name on the heat schedule and get your workout in. Even if you are not participating in the weekly Friday Night Lights on a team, all members are welcome to come WOD. Non-members that need to be judged are welcome to drop in for judging. Please bring $10 cash.

    Whew!!

    I went Thursday night after the announcement didn’t give this the respect it deserved. No warm-up no actual plan other than pacing lead to a monster back spasm in the 40 DB snatches and a score of 182. Back was hammered.

    So I wasn’t happy with that and went again today (Sun). Kept hips lower (front squat style), belted up, lifters, loud music, and a lot of pass through the middle touch and goes.

    Completed in 19:17
    With a cool ass ninja roll box jump fail!

    Scaled: 20# DB/20″ Box – 204 reps – 16:59 tie break time

    Had to put my hands on my head during the box step ups after my round of 40’s, so I wouldn’t push on my knee to step up onto the box. Coach Brett and Jess made sure I knew that prior to the start, so thanks for that, or else I would have been no repped! πŸ˜¬πŸ‘πŸ»

    Functioning at about 75% health-wise. Sickness has kicked my butt for almost 2 weeks. Opening day for FNL was a no go due to Dr. orders, so I came today (Monday) just to move through it and get a score recorded. Exceeded my expectations as I didn’t think I’d get into the 50 DB snatches. Sickness-fatigue got to me more than muscle burn/fatigue did which was kind of frustrating, but expected given the circumstances.

    Got it done and ready for 17.2. Bring it on🀘🏻
