I was introduced to CrossFit in 2006 while working with the Australian SAS and US Air Force PJ’s on a deployment to Afghanistan. Prior to my arrival in Afghanistan, I worked for the Jackson Police Department and had always maintained what I considered to be at an excellent level of fitness to meet the demands of the job. I followed several regimens from Pavel’s Naked Warrior to Furey’s Combat Conditioning with weights and running thrown in for good measure. So, when asked did I want to “workout” I felt up to the challenge. Some 10 minutes later I quickly realized that what I had been doing was not cutting it. I started researching and after my return home in 2007 I immediately found the nearest CrossFit certification and attended.  Since then I have been training myself and others on how to improve the sport of living with the Sport of Fitness.
