Tanya is a Level 1 CrossFit and CrossFit Kids trainer. Tanya has always been interested in health, physical fitness, and nutrition. These interests led her to participate in various fitness programs as well as pursue a career as a Registered Nurse.
She has participated in organized sports, group fitness classes, bootcamps, a little weight training, and a whole lot of running over the years. She has been competitive in many 5Ks and half marathons and completed one full marathon. Although she did well running and had strong legs, she knew she was lacking in overall physical fitness. Ironically a good friend, Kim Cunningham (who is also a CFJ trainer), who she ran her first 5k and half marathon with in 2005, is the same friend who invited her to try out CrossFit one Saturday morning in February 2011.
Since discovering CrossFit she has jumped in with both feet and never looked back. She truly believes it is the best program for overall physical fitness (or GPP-General Physical Preparedness as it is termed in CF:) ). At age 38 (11 years after giving birth to twins), through the constantly varied (=never get bored), high intensity workouts coupled with sound nutrition she is stronger physically and mentally than ever. She also loves the community of people that she is surrounded with on a daily basis. Every CFJ member has a common goal to be better, stronger, faster, and more efficient today than they were yesterday inside and outside the gym.
Tanya hopes to be a positive example for those she is teaching, help people realize their potential, and achieve goals they never thought possible. CrossFit has become a way of life for Tanya and she feels it has given her the tools to change others lives.
Tanya is also a wife to John David Favara, mother of twin boys Samuel and Harrison, sister, daughter, friend, cardiac nurse (BLS & ACLS trained), and Christ follower!
