I’ve always been an active person. Growing up, I was a competitive cheerleader, and dabbled in softball and surfing. Fast forward to 2012, I was a 25 year old mom looking for a fun way to be active again. I joined CrossFit Jackson that year and it was a decision that has impacted my life in more ways than one. It reignited my passion for competing, has allowed me to grow physically and emotionally, and has provided a community of support that is more like a family. Plus, I met my husband here!
I’m 38 now and always trying new and challenging sports like cycling, mountain biking, jiujitsu, long distance running, and tennis. I contribute my ability to pick up new sports to CrossFit.
As a coach, I hope to share my passion for fitness and finding new challenges to keep you going in and out of the gym!
My turning point hit when I was 25. I was a very determined child, had big plans, but life took me down a different path. I found myself in a state of unhappiness, young mom of two, overweight, and no outlet for stress. I joined CrossFit Jackson looking for a way to lose “baby weight,” but it gave me so much more than my physique back.
When I first started at CFJ, I was lacking the confidence I once had. Because of life circumstances, I was lost mentally, physically, emotionally. I looked at the life I had at 25, the situation I allowed myself and my kids to be part of was wrong. It didn’t take long after joining CFJ that I regained a lot of that lost confidence.
I grew inside and outside of the gym. I gained lifelong friends who have watched me raise my kids at CFJ, remarry, and have built a life around fitness and health.
I love being fit. I love the freedom fitness gives you. I feel better at 38 than I did at 20, and I want to share that feeling with others. Being in the medical field, I see everyday how obesity and immobility debilitate our society. There is so much information and so many tools out there to live a healthier and fuller life through health and fitness. I hope to be a vessel of this information and a motivation to others to strive to do more and more.
